No doubt a city needs a few giant sports fields; but Vancouver could also do with a few more MacLeans.

#79: Strathcona Park

Perhaps one day a full modernization of Strathcona will be the next chapter in its story of change. For now though, we can only see a park that is very big, with enough to do, but not fully living up to its potential.

#94: Oppenheimer Park

Overall, Oppenheimer does enough things for a wide amount of people that it’s hard to fault too much, and it certainly meets the needs for many in the community.

#100: Trillium Park

There’s a funky ambiance to the entire park, living as it does in the shadow of the railyards and incoming new St. Paul’s Hospital.

#142: Strathcona Linear Park

A neat little use of public space, this was created in the 1970s after a protracted squabble between council and the park board.

#218: Thornton Park

One of the older parks in Vancouver, Thornton could conceivably be a vibrant park. It isn’t.
