#4: Fraser River Park

Vancouver has plenty of waterfront parks, it has plenty of beaches, it has plenty of off-leash dog areas, it has plenty of quieter nature parks, and it has plenty of places where it pays tribute to its past. Nowhere do all those elements come together like Fraser River Park.

#11: Maple Grove Park

While so many of Vancouver’s great parks scream their Vancouverness, Maple Grove has a more universal feel, as though it could be dropped in any growing city in the 1950s and suddenly be packed with families enjoying its pleasures.

#87: Malkin Park

The net effect is a park that feels isolated in a good way, with a sense of exploration that’s impressive for a park of medium size and ambition.

#132: Shannon Mews Park

It’s a new park. But an old story.

#138: Kerrisdale Centennial Park

While most parks surrounding community centres are large and a mishmash of different amenities, the ambitions for Kerrisdale are decidedly modest.

#168: McCleery Park

Another small undeveloped triangle park in the city’s west side, we admit to enjoying McCleery a little more than perhaps we objectively should.

#179: Elm Park

Less an actual park and more a collection of sports facilities, Elm has tennis courts, a lawn bowling club, washrooms and a baseball field. And that’s it.

#183: McCleery Golf Course

McCleery is the least interesting of the public golf courses: formerly a family farm, the course is mostly flat and plain from a topographic standpoint.

#213: Arbutus Park

Undeveloped triangle parks are a beacon of this city, and this is certainly one of them.
